Carol Mellow is a recreational potter who happened upon the joys of playing in mud/clay.

She is a visual person who enjoys roaming around the internet to view other potters’ creations and viewing Pinterest entries that pique her curiosity. She then uses all that visual stimulation to synthesize ideas into functional and sculptural pieces of interest.

She prefers hand building and at present is pursing two different bodies of work. One involving oval pillow shapes with deep textures. The other encompassing the use of “nets” for the progression of geometric shapes.

Her pieces have been exhibited at Raritan Valley Community College, Center for Contemporary Art and the Hillsborough Municipal Building.
