Melissa Bragg-Krishnamurthy is an Art Educator and multimedia artist. She has her BA in Art Education from Montclair State. While there, she earned 3 teaching certifications: Art Education K-12, Elementary Education K-8, and Nursery School. She has over 35 years' teaching experience working with children from Pre-K through Adults. Melissa is a faculty member of the Visual Arts Center in Summit currently teaching ceramics and mixed media sculpture.

Melissa is a lifelong "Jersey Girl". Born in Jersey City, currently lives in Watchung and spends her summers on the beach in LBI. Nature and the ocean often become the source for her inspiration for much of her artwork. When she was a little girl in Jersey City, she loved playing in the dirt and mud in her small backyard. Little did she know that "mud" would end up becoming a passion.

Melissa is skilled at wheel throwing, hand building and sculpture. She often incorporates her painting ability into her clay pieces. When she is not teaching, she works in her home studio creating pieces in clay, and painting with oils and pastels. Pastels are a new medium for Melissa. She has been working with them for less than a year, but she has become hooked! She enjoys working with pastels which are closely related to oil paintings. She and her husband Suresh love to travel. They just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have one son Evan, and 2 mini schnauzers Lucy and Charlie.
