Journey into the world of ceramics began few years back when Richa started taking pottery classes at Raritan Valley Community College.  With every passing semester her love and passion for clay increased. She found the process of creating items from stoneware to be thrilling, exciting, therapeutic and refreshing. According to Richa, clay is not only a great teacher but also a great stress buster.

Gupta brings ethnic Indian culture and colorful designs into her work. Her pieces are influenced by Indian and Arabic henna which is applied on clay as henna is applied to body. Functional-wares created are food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Richa’s zest to learn and apply new techniques keeps her engaged and entertained for hours.

Besides pottery, Gupta is a co-founder of Knit Crochet with Love (KCWL), a charity that crochets and knits chemo caps and lap blankets for cancer patients. When not playing with clay or managing KCWL, she can be seen working at Raritan Valley College.
