Pottery started for me as a kind of therapy—but it quickly turned into something much more. The first time I touched a ball of clay, I was hooked. There’s something a little magical about taking a lump of mud and turning it into something you can actually use every day. When I sit at the wheel, everything else fades out. It’s just me, the clay, and the quiet focus of shaping something by hand.

I’m drawn to the idea that art can live in our daily routines. A mug, a bowl, a plate—these “ordinary” objects can still feel special, playful, and full of personality. I like to experiment with form and surface, creating pieces that are fun to look at and even better to use. My work tends to be a bit eclectic, but color is always at the center. I love glazes that move and surprise—ones that run, blend, and create almost kaleidoscopic effects. Lately, I’ve been exploring crystalline glazes, which has opened up a whole new world where art and science meet in really beautiful ways.

I’m also inspired by pottery’s long, shared history across cultures. Pots have always been part of human life—used for cooking, gathering, storytelling, and preserving everyday moments. Long before us, people shaped clay to meet their needs and express themselves, and those pieces still tell their stories today. When I make a pot, I like to think I’m adding to that tradition—creating something that’s not just beautiful, but meant to be held, used, and lived with.
