Artist Statement
I discovered a real love for clay after taking my first pottery class fifteen years ago. The versatility of the medium and narrative possibilities has become a passion. It’s invigorating to be exposed to new artists, and each new technique opens up limitless possibilities. I’ve been able to include my love of fabrics, nature and texture into clay creations.
My focus is in interpreting what brings me joy into my creations. Recently I have tried to incorporate more influences from nature, as well as refining my handbuilding technique and exploring alternative firing methods. Whether with color, texture or purpose, I hope my work connects with the observer, drawing them into a tactile experience.
