I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Hood College in Art and Archaeology with a Studio Art concentration in ceramics, and a Master’s Degree from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Business of Art and Design. I work primarily in translucent porcelain and I enjoy experimenting with light and how it interacts with the clay. I specialize in lanterns and luminaries but also expand into sculptures. While the subject matter can vary, the one thing that always plays through my work is the importance of light and how it enhances each piece and provides a dramatic effect, enhances the realism, or shares an unexpected surprise.

My artwork has many hours of research and study before starting the building, sculpting, and decorating processes. I use images, videos, and when applicable, in person experiences to spark a sense of awe and realism that makes someone want to take a closer look and ask questions. I am constantly pushing my skills to new levels to enhance the viewer experience and create a connection between the viewer and the subject matter. My artwork is a culmination of many passions and interests and my own drive to innovate, experiment, and push the boundaries of not only the medium, but my skills as an artist.
