Joanna Feldheim is a studio potter living in Montclair, NJ. Her pieces are hand-thrown and slip casted in white and black porcelain.
Joanna’s focus is in creating precious objects that are displayed, enjoyed and well-loved in the practice of one’s daily living.
Inspired by the discovery of porcelain in Jingdezhen, China, its high value, preciousness and challenge to work with, informs Joanna’s work.
Eastern pottery in simplicity, purpose and form is what drives Joanna to create pottery.
Joanna is currently creating a new line, exploring vintage molds, mold making and slip casting. Her slip-cast works are the translation of memories of everyday iconic objects from history that are transformed into a modern vernacular.
