I got involved with clay after retirement and have been immersed in the delights and struggles now for two decades.  Most of my pots are unique, wheel-thrown functional porcelain pieces.   I explore a range of decorative techniques and styles, carving, sgraffito, slip-trailing among others.  Designs may borrow from the natural world or play off geometric forms. I enjoy spontaneity and letting the surface evolve organically as I work. Some of my favorite motifs are fantastical flowers and trees. I can spend a full day or two just working on one piece. The community of potters provides friendship and support. Special pleasure is when someone shares a photo of one of my pieces displayed in their home.
